The Day I Met Steve Jobs

It was in Wainuiomata College, my first encounter with an Apple Computer. 1983. Form 7.

It was no turning back. Apple became my brand and Steve Jobs as the icon, revolutioner that shaped my future life in IT world.

Steve Jobs

In was in 1992, I first met Steve Jobs in person. During a tour to the USA for Apple World in San Francisco and in 1993 in Las Vegas. I also visited his former Apple office then in Cupertino.

The ultimate encounter was in 1994, during a preview of Toy Story in Kodak Theatre, Los Angeles. Awesome to have a sneak preview of the first digital animated film. There he was, Steve Jobs who had revolutionised the world with his innovations and entrepreneurship.

At a 2005 commencement address at Stanford University, Jobs shared the philosophy that drove him.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life,” Jobs said. “Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.
Rest in peace Steve Jobs.
