TG Hadi in Dubai on TG Nik Aziz's remark on unity government

Some of us in Dubai had the opportunity to listen to TG Haji Hadi Awang on the proposed unity government. After TG Hadi had solemnised the marriage of two Malaysian expats in Dubai.

I was busy outside and only attended his talk briefly, before dozing off on the sofa due to exhaustion. Busy day from subuh prayer.

I heard that was one question on the TG Nik Aziz's objection and TG Hadi replied that TG Nik Aziz was misquoted by the media. TG Nik Aziz was againts PAS to join BN, not unity government and TG Hadi reitrated that he himself was againts joining BN.

The unity government idea came from TH Hadi as one of the available options in strengtening the nation during the current turmoil. I can see his rational as I am also fed up with the incessant politicking and chess game that is not beneficial to the rakyat, just for some leaders' egos.

Reading the below report from Malaysiakini, I am wondering on the conflicting statements. However, I have good faith in both Tuan Gurus as they are better leaders than most United Malay National Organisation's politicians (not necessarily leaders..)

Nik Aziz tells Hadi: I'm still captain

PAS has been sailing in troubled waters of late and this has prompted its spiritual leader Nik Aziz Nik Mat to remind the party president Abdul Hadi Awang that he is still captain of the ship. MCPX In view of this, the Kelantan menteri besar called on his 'first mate' to consult him before making any decision on forming a unity government with Barisan Nasional. Nik Aziz said he did not want "too many captains in one ship" and conflicting statements to be made as this could cause confusion among PAS members and affect the party's credibility. He also reiterated his stand that he was against the idea (unity government) which received the endorsement of the top PAS leadership at its muktamar (general assembly) in Ipoh last year, but was open to discussion with Hadi on the matter. "I as the mursyidul am (spiritual advisor) is like the captain, if the anchor man wants to see me for something I cannot refuse... if the oarsman wants to see me, I must also entertain him," he was quoted as saying by Bernama. "If Hadi wants to see me about it, I would be more than willing to meet him," he said. Nik Aziz was asked if he was willing to meet party leaders who are for the unity government to discuss the issue. Ibrahim Ali backs Hadi Meanwhile, Pasir MAS MP Ibrahim Ali said he backed Hadi's call for a unity government, saying it was needed as the Malays had become increasingly disunited. "I see Hadi (left) also gives a lot of attention to Muslim unity... it (unity government) is in the interest of race, religion and country," he told reporters. He added that PAS leaders should convince Nik Aziz that the unity government was the best option for the Malays in the present circumstances. On another matter, he said the Bar Council had ulterior motives in calling for the abolishment of the Sedition Act. "The laws are made by Parliament and it is not for the Bar Council to question their legality," he said.

For the first time in the 52-year history of Malaysia, strong objections are being raised publicly about the suitability of the prime minister-in-waiting, said DAP stalwart Lim Kit Siang. MCPX Speaking at a dinner in Selangor last night, the veteran politician said so many are so skeptical and cynical about Najib Abdul Razak's suitability, integrity and legitimacy. This has spawned an increasing chorus of calls to stop him from becoming the sixth prime minister of Malaysia, he added. The latest to join this chorus is former law minister Zaid Ibrahim, who called on the Yang di Pertuan Agong to reject Najib and appoint someone who would 'bring us back from the brink'. There are online campaigns to get Abdullah to remain as prime minister even after the Umno general assembly next week, Lim said, adding that it is not because Abdullah is an effective and successful prime minister but because his replacement is unsuitable. "I do not think anyone will dispute that if an opinion poll is now conducted, Najib's popularity would have fallen further even below the lowest point of 34% recorded in July last year, while Abdullah would have improved in his popularity rating," he added. However, Lim said there are others who feel that asking Abdullah to remain is not the real option and propose that a more suitable candidate be chosen from the present Umno ranks, with Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah's name most often mentioned in this context. "There is of course another scenario, which is for Pakatan Rakyat to replace Barisan Nasional at the federal government, but as the numbers are not present, this option is not really available," he said. 'Start of a national nightmare' Putting aside the question as to how real or realistic these growing rumblings to stop Najib from become the next prime minister are, the inescapable fact, Lim said, is that such public opposition to a prime minister-in-waiting is happening for the first time. "In fact, such doubts and objections to Najib taking over seems to growing stronger by the day, the nearer to his ascension to the highest political office in the land. "This is why Najib's RM60 billion second economic stimulus package has failed to rally confidence, as he is seen as the most divisive and distrusted prime minister-designate, who will not enjoy the customary political honeymoon of 'first 100 days' for new prime ministers. "His Machiavellian machinations in his pre-100 days, like the undemocratic, unethical, illegal and unconstitutional power grab in Perak, the selective and malicious prosecution of DAP national chairperson Karpal Singh for sedition and the arbitrary and high-handed one-year suspension of DAP MP for Puchong, Gobind Singh without pay and parliamentary privileges, have created widespread concern whether Najib’s ascension marks the start of a national nightmare," he said. "This also raises the question whether the 'N' in the most famous political prophecy in the country, RAHMAN about the first six prime ministers in the country, has a double meaning – that it signifies Najib as prime minister after Tunku Abdul Rahman, Razak, Hussein Onn, Mahathir and Abdullah, but it also marks the 'end' of the line of Umno prime ministers, Umno hegemony and Umno government in the next 13th general election," he added.

Khamis 19 Mac berlangsung pernikahan antara Khairul Faisal dan Sulastri, di akad nikahkan oleh TG Haji Hadi Awang, Presiden PAS, yang kebetulan berada di sini.
Majlis dibuat di kediaman Bro Ariffin Mamat di Arabian Ranches.

Tahniah pada kedua mempelai, semuga perkahwinan diberkati dan bahagia ke anak cucu.

Tahniah pada kawan-kawan ekspatriat yang menganjurkan majlis secara gotong royong. Terutama pada kaum ibu yang memasak 'ala kenduri kahwin' di tanahair.
