A growth in demand for construction jobs has been seen by a leading employment company in New Zealand.

The company has published the results of its quarterly report, which has revealed that employers are hiring more now than they were earlier in the year.

According to the report, there is currently a skills shortage in areas such as civil engineering, construction and architecture.

“Employers are turning their focus to preparing for the expected upturn in business activity. Caution remains but confidence is returning.”

“They are recruiting staff to drive revenue, minimise risk and improve processes as well as rebuilding teams which have been coping with an increase in workload due to past redundancies. Headcount approval is attained far more easily and some headcount freezes are lifting.”
