UAE Vice-President, Malaysian PM explore ways to enhance bilateral ties

Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, on Thursday received Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Malaysian Prime Minister, and accompanying delegation.
At a meeting held at Zabeel Palace, in the presence of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, the two leaders reviewed bilateral relations between the UAE and Malaysia and discussed ways to enhance them, especially in the fields of tourism, finance and Islamic banking in public and private sectors. The leaders stressed the need to unify efforts in Islamic countries for the sake of regaining the growth of their respective economies in a gradual and steady way.
They said Islamic countries have the capability of overcoming this phase of economic slump through harnessing their energies, intellectual powers, material resources and a joint vision. Shaikh Mohammad hosted a banquet lunch in honour of the Malaysian Prime Minister and accompanying delegation.
The meeting and the banquet was also attended by Shaikh Majid Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Authority of Culture and Arts, a number of ministers and senior state officials, Nasser Salman Al Aboudi, UAE Ambassador to Malaysia, and Dato Yahia Abdul Jabbar, Malaysian Ambassador to the UAE.
