Zaid Ibrahim threatens to quit over ISA - Malaysiakini

I agree with you Zaid if you have the balls to quit now. Quit and be a real man.

Yes, it has never been justified to abuse ISA for political reasons or other reasons as we have ample legal avenues to charge the detainees in court if they are really guilty of their acts.

We have to repel this draconian act and let us under the rule of law.

However, UMNO goons need ISA for their political survivals in crashing different opinions or dissent. That's why we do not need UMNO just to protect its leaders, not rakyats and country.

De facto Law Minister Zaid Ibrahim today threatened to resign if the government continued to use the Internal Security Act, which he described as 'unjust'.
The outspoken Barisan Nasional politician also called for the immediate release of DAP MP Teresa Kok and controversial blogger Raja Petra Kamaruddin who were held under the security law which provides for detention without trial.
"We have a government that commits to laws and reforms, we can't be using old-style politics or resort to creating fear. We have laws and they (the detainees) can be charged in court."I am trying to meet with Prime Minister (Abdullah Ahmad Badawi) this week to convey to him my position. If (he considers) my position untenable, I will leave," he told Malaysiakini in a telephone interview from Kota Baru, Kelantan.
The minister, who is a lawyer by training, held a press conference in Kota Baru earlier, where he also spoke on the same matter.

Our current government has ruled our beloved country for over 50 years. It is like a car currently driven by a sleepy driver, who dozes off without even having his hand on the steering wheel. While the driver is sleeping the co-driver veered off to get involved with a sexy girl from Mongolia. Getting involved with this Mongolian is full of mysteries linking up with submarines and commission. However, after a while because of wife's jealousy, the audacious murder took place with not so smart scheme of using C4 to demolish evidence. Now things are in deep shit.
You see this current car has also got a few spineless passengers. Of course people without spine do not know what is really happening in the daily political goings on but claim loudly that they represent their respective race. No wonder this country is losing the competitive edge and risking being left far behind when the tsunami of globalization hit the Malaysian shore any time without warning.

BN car is not only unable to take this country forward but it has not being serviced regularly due to either ignorance or arrogance. The engine oil has not been changed for over 50 years. This car is breaking down sooner rather than later.

Now Malaysians, have to get a new car with a more reliable brand called PR MPV to carry all Malaysians irrespective of race, political leaning, religious belief to a new dawn. Let us start PR MPV engine on 916. Of course we need a capable driver to replace the sleepy one. Make sure the co-driver and passengers of the new PR MPV are also better ones.
